In 1995, or 6 years before the invention of Tablet PC, William Henry "Bill" Gates III already foretold the importance of internet before that he wrote a memo,
entitled: "The Internet Tidal Wave," citing the importance of his
company’s focus in the internet’s impact to the corporate world. During that time, Gates was hinting to
make yet another brainchild program in the internet—the search engine. But this vision was overlooked because Bill Gates remained
concentrated on their foundation—Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation—before with
great confidence in the company's incessant soar in market share. But 3 years after a
fortune telling remark by Gates, Google search engine was born.
With full of
dreams and lacking implementation and considering also the antitrust lawsuit
and anticompetitive or monopolistic business practices accusation the company
experienced from a US judge and computer manufacturers, Microsoft started to be
overtaken by other software companies.
Apple and Samsung
owe the good business venture they experience nowadays to Microsoft which has
long been tarnished by lawsuit and clamor from other PC manufacturers and consumers
since 1995. The effect of drama—involving Microsoft of alleged monopolistic
practice and harassment to other PC manufacturers including compulsory
integration of internet explorer prior to its complete licensing of operating system
to manufacturers at that juncture—is still experienced to date.
Can all
these failures be attributed to the lawsuit and condemnation lodged against the
company that continually affect the company’s integrity to deliver quality and
smarter information technology and handset service to the world at the present
time?
